Malik Yakini

Mr. Malik Yakini, is the Chairperson of the Detroit Black Community Food Security Network.  He is a longtime Detroit activist who has played a critical role in raising awareness about environmental and food justice issues in the city of Detroit for nearly a decade.  Mr. Yakini astutely provides a critical analysis of the history of race and racial injustice with concrete activism and specific steps that need to be taken within the Black community as well as in collaboration with community partners who share goals related to racial justice.
