Rafter Sass is a co-founder of the Ecological Learning Institute. He has been active in the global justice movement for over 10 years as organizer, participant and scholar. He has been practicing Permaculture design since 2003. His work as consultant and reseracher covers themes as diverse as ecological waste and water treatment, homescale mushroom production, whole farm design and urban agroforestry. He is now studying ecological design and agroforestry at the graduate level at the Univerisity of Vermont. He has been faciliatating workshops on social project design and developing the Liberation Ecology curriculum since 2004.
