One venerable teaching story of North America is the Legend of the Rainbow Warriors, a story I have heard recounted by over 30 traditional Native elders from the North in Canada on down South into Central and South America. It’s part of the Mayan teachings of 2012 as well. In brief, the legend says that all the colors and faiths of human beings will be re-united on Turtle Island (North America). When that happens, if there is no respect for the original ways and life of this land as the new people move in and settle, then eventually a great sickness will come to the land and the souls of the Two-leggeds: bitter rain, poison waters, dying animal species, and hatred among the peoples. At this time, as the sickness grows, the rainbow warriors will have an opportunity to come forward. They are people of all colors and faiths who have in common the certain appreciation that the Earth is indeed our Mother, and sustains us all. We must take care of her. These new people will have an opportunity to ignite the 8th Fire β€” an era of peace and respect built upon love and caring for the land. They will employ no weapons to accomplish their challenge, only insight, compassion, and determination.

In the view of many, the Millennial Agrarians β€”  people who hear the urgent call of the land and who are responding with strength, intelligence, and creative initiatives β€” are healing the land and raising up clean food for the physical and mental health of the people. In so doing, they are fulfilling the challenges set out in the legend. The main giveaway is for the hearts of the people, to strengthen, renew, and to empower with information and soul connection. If appropriate, I can also prepare a one-page handout of the relevant legends with links to the stories and to key agrarian resources.
