Date & Room Location: TBD
Katie Myers-Griffith and Meredith Poczontek know as more farmers begin to look at getting started in farming on small acreages in urban and suburban cities, they need to translate their ideas and plans to local government entities, planning departments, health departments, city managers, mayors, city council people, and other civic groups.
Learn to translate farm speak to your community, will take a unique approach by presenting this issue from both the urban farmer and municipal employee’s perspective. Interactively participants will share some of their frustrations at “getting permission” to farm, and speakers will assist participants in the translation needed when talking to a municipal employee.
